Our client, a successful corporation with a number of large companies operating in Canada and the U.S., is seeking a leader with the ability to develop a comprehensive Human Resources strategy across all business units. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who can align HR programs with corporate business objectives.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the VPs of Human Resources at the various business units to ensure consistency in HR policies and procedures. You will proactively network and confer with these leaders regularly to ensure that best practices are established and maintained.

In accordance with the corporationís mission and values, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing HR programs such as recruitment and selection, training and development, employee retention, compensation and benefits, labour relations, employment law, and workplace health and safety. Additionally, you will be involved in succession planning for key roles throughout the organization, and developing programs for skills development and enhancement to ensure employee engagement.

With your expert knowledge of HR trends, you will recommend and contribute to change management programs to improve efficiencies and increase performance. You will also devise coaching programs and provide senior managers with guidelines for evaluating performance, from goal setting to appraisal.

An exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you have the ability to effectively communicate HR concepts and strategies to employees at all levels. As the go-to person for HR solutions, you will stay abreast of trends impacting organizational effectiveness, conveying this information to senior management on a timely basis. You will also motivate the VPís of HR at the business units to ensure there is a seamless integration of corporate HR standards.

To excel in this challenging role you should have 10+ years of senior level experience in organizational HR development at a large corporation, along with a degree in Human Resources (an MBA would be a definite asset). You should also be a team leader who can balance multiple priorities and projects, while delivering continuous improvement initiatives. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must, and strong project and time management skills are essential.
